Spider veins, or “starbursts,” are thus named because these tiny veins just below the skin often radiate out from a central point, reminiscent of the shape of a spider. They may also appear as fine, separate lines, as a web-like maze, or as “branches” from a single “trunk” of a tree-shaped form. Spider veins can develop on any part of the body, including the face, thighs, calves, and ankles.

Our formal long pulse laser destroys superficial veins of the legs and face by the color of the blood within the vessels absorbing the intense heat. We treat spider veins and the long blue ones that inhabit the backs of knees very effectively. Our treatment is 30 minutes and most patients can be treated in this visit.
